Dropbox is a cool way to keep your files with you wherever you go. I used to use
box.net for stuff like this but Dropbox does it better. The great feature of Dropbox is that its just a folder on your drive. You can interact with it as you would any other folder. Just drop some files into the folder and they get uploaded! You can access them from the web interface, or just open up your Dropbox folder and they're there!
I have 10 invites left for this service, leave a comment if you want one. Make sure you fill in a valid email.

Today I found this awesome extension for Firefox that turns the URL in the address bar into a breadcrumb style display that lets you click individual directories. It also has an option to gray-out everything but the domain name to help prevent spoofing.
Check out the screenshot to see it in action!

I believe pluto is ready for release soon. There are just a few minor things I need to take care of first. Once those get done, I will have a few people test it on various server configurations to make sure there are no major errors and if all goes well, it will be ready for a public release!
If you haven't so already, check out the
forum and tell me what you want to see in pluto.
Pluto is coming along nicely, I have just a few major things before it's ready for release though. In this post, I will discuss what I have added since the last update and what is still on the to-do list.
The RSS feed works fine now, I kinda stole it from Kubix (my old project) and I have moved all of the options into a table in the database to make it easier to change them. Now the only thing you will have to change in the config file is the database settings, which the installer will hopefully try to do for you. I have also added an option for an announcement. This announcement will be displayed at the top of the page above posts.
I still need to make a user-management page where the admin can see all of the users and change their profile settings (email, name, group, etc.). Because all of the options have been moved to the database, I will need to make an options page where the admin can change site settings. An installer is also in the works.
All comments and suggestions are welcomed in the

I have been looking for a way to mount a FTP account as a drive in Computer. This way, I could just go to X: and throw stuff into a folder that I could access anywhere! This didn't quite work out as I had hoped, but I did manage to put a shortcut to my FTP account in Computer.
This is what it will look like at the end:
After doing this, I learned where Windows keeps this shortcut and how to add any file or shortcut to Computer.
Navigate to C:\Users\YOUR_USER_NAME\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Network Shortcuts\
NOTE: Replace YOUR_USER_NAME with your actual Windows user name
Now drag something into this folder and watch it show up in Computer! Amazing isn't it? If you want to remove the icon, just right click it and hit delete or take it out of the Network Shortcuts folder.
